Well he sure is. And it seems to me that people always forget about him. Sure he'll pop up occasionally with some sort of humanitarian cause or, oh I don't know, a fantastically douchetastic comment that reminds everyone that just because you used to be the president, that doesn't mean your mind doesn't slowly rot into a mess of gibberish that makes the rational people amongst us slap their palm to their forehead whenever you open your mouth. Via CNN:
"I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American," Carter told "NBC Nightly News." "I live in the South, and I've seen the South come a long way, and I've seen the rest of the country that shares the South's attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African-Americans."
"That racism inclination still exists, and I think it's bubbled up to the surface because of belief among many white people -- not just in the South but around the country -- that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It's an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply."

Are you kidding me? I often joke that I can't wait until I get old so that I can just say whatever I want and people will just chalk it up to me losing my GD mind in my old age. Then I see old people say shit like this and it makes me think, "wow, I really don't want to sound like a complete retard no matter how old I am."
As far as I'm concerned the only good thing that Barack Obama's done since taking office is call Kanye West a jackass. I think his policies are horrendous. I think he has no inclination for compromise. I think he looks down on others who don't share his particular viewpoints in a condescending manner. And I think that he and the rest of the Democrat leadership are going to get their asses handed to them in the mid-term elections and unless he changes his tune he'll be out on his ass come January of 2013.
Absolutely zero of those reasons have their roots in racism and I'm pretty sure South Carolina's Rep. Joe Wilson's comment during the prez's address was not racially motivated either. He was a dumbass to be sure for calling out like that. And I find it extremely inappropriate to interrupt ANY president while he is addressing congress because absent political differences the ultimate goal of any law maker should be to work together for the betterment of our country and not devolve into petty cat-calls. Especially, "You Lie!!" Seriously dude, there was just something in particular about that phrase that didn't quite sound right. And remember, we have Congress, not Parliament. Those limey bastards across the pond make fun of each other and call out over each other all the time and it makes them sounds as ridiculous as their wigs make them look.
Carter's assertion that people's opposition to Obama's plans for health care reform are based on some kind of deep seated animosity towards black people is ludicrous. I'm absolutely fucking positive that if Hillary was up there spouting the same shit and trying to jam the same terrible policy down our throats the American people would still have a problem with it. Come on Mr. President. Just go sit on your rocking chair. Or go on one of your Habitat for Humanity trips. But don't go making yourself look like a jackass by making some ridiculous blanket statement that people don't like Obama because he's black. People don't like Obama because he's an ass hole.
Only the judges wear wigs, and I believe the speaker. Still love you man!
ReplyDeletePoint taken. I actually thought that but didn't feel like looking into it. "Accuracy" is not exactly the primary force behind HI. And besides, I don't care who wears them. Those f'n things look ridiculous.
