In my last post I said I was going to spend the next one railing against Jim Nantz for being a two faced douchebag in his handling of Tiger Woods' return to golf two weekends ago. While Jim Nantz is still a two faced douchebag, I couldn't finish the piece. I actually read it and thought that there was too much profanity and too much of the liberal use of the word douchebag and similar verbage for it to make sense. Yes, I thought that it was vulgar and incoherent. Most of my shit is vulgar and incoherent, so just imagine what that abortion looked like. The first one was rambling and nonsensical enough, and I really didn't need two of them in a row.
So anyway, t looks like Roger Goodell is going to become my favorite commissioner in professional sports on Wednesday! I have long been a proponent of punishing people for being stupid. Unfortunately our legal system is not established to penalize retards and that is a real shame. If someone is being a dumbass they deserve, at the very least, an ass kicking, and at the most, to be removed from society for an agreed upon amount of time. If you are a jerkoff to people, there should be repercussions. Since you can't beat the fuck out of someone just for pissing you off or being a jackass, the next logical repurcussion would be a financial or instituational penalty.
Ben Roethlisberger is about to be suspended by Goodell and the NFL, essentially for being a fucking moron and scumbag. He did not get arrested. He was not found guilty of a crime in criminal court or found liable in civil court. As far as we know, he didn't even pay off the alleged victim. Instead, he involved himself in a questionable situation for the second time in a year and was accused of sexually assaulting a woman. Again.
Now, in America you cannot go to jail or be otherwise punished just because someone claimed that you did something. There's a process. You get accused or caught. You have a trial. A jury says you either did that shit or you didn't. THEN you go to jail or are otherwise punished. But we're not talking about America here. We're talking about the NFL. Roger Goodell's NFL. And in Rog's NFL, you get your shit punished at just the air of impropriety. Oh, you decided to act like a fucking moron and proceeded to embarrass yourself, your team and the league? OK. How does 4 games on the bench sound, ass hole?
Goodell has taken a fair amount of grief in the past for punishing players for their off the field antics. Antics, of course, is probably the wrong word. I don't think shooting/stabbing people, running people over while drunk in your Bentely or beating and/or sexually assaulting women fall under the decidedly jovial banner of "antics." I mean, it's not like Big Ben was trying to play an innocent game of "Hide the Penis in the Unwilling Vagina." Instead I would suggest that they fall under the banner of "entitled, rich, scumbag asshole moves that no one should get away with no matter what the judicial system says."
Is Heir Goodell setting a dangerous precedent? Possibly. But I would argue that if he makes it clear to his players that there are going to be repurcussions outside of what their fame and fortune can otherwise get them out of when they act like animals then maybe they will, you know, stop acting like fucking animals. Remember too that we're not talking about Roethlisberger going out and getting drunk and falling down on the sidewalk. Yeah it's embarrassing for him. But it's not that big of a deal. We're talking about a guy who at best is a moron who thinks that every woman at the bar wants him when he's had a few pops and, at worst, a sexual predator whose fame and finances have allowed him to escape punishment. Until Goodell gets his hands on him anyway.
Of course just look at him. Is this the face of a sexual predator?
I say yes. Yes it is. Nice mullet, douchebag.
